So when Illumicrate announced their special Grisha Edition box to coincide with the release of The Language of Thorns, I told myself I didn’t need it. When there were only a few boxes left, I told myself that if I bought it, I’d end up with three copies of TLOT – the signed edition I’d preordered months ago from Waterstones, and the Fairyloot exclusive edition. The boxes sold out, and I saw everyone else’s unboxings. “Yeah, the items are amazing, but oh well, it’s too late now” I said. That’s when Illumicrate added extra boxes to their store – and of course, I ordered one without hesitation.
This is my first ever box from Illumicrate, and although it was quite pricey, I really do love every single item in this box and am so glad I managed to get one! Here’s what was inside:
Grishaverse city postcards by Posternaut | Nikolai Lantsov woodmark by Ink & Wonder | The Tailor lip balm by Literary Lip Balms | Ketterdam mug by Temporary Places | Dirtyhands soap by Butter Bar Soapery | Sun Summoner tea by T-ology | Amplifier Book Sleeve by Sparrow + Wolf | Midnight Tales Candle by Book & Glow | The Dregs Tote by Charlie Bowater | Enamel Pin Set by Fable & Black | Socks by Illumicrate | The Language of Thorns Notebook by Bkmrk | The Language of Thorns by Leigh Bardugo + a letter from Leigh
Although I love every item in this box, I have to say I absolutely adore the Ketterdam mug, the enamel pins (I’ve always been a fan of Fable & Black’s pins!) and the tote bag featuring artwork of the Dregs by Charlie Bowater – an artist whose work I’ve admired for a long time. I think one of the best things about this box as a whole is the variety of items included – with bookish accessories, homeware, clothing, bath and body products and more, there really is something for everyone in here, and all are so perfectly reminiscent of characters throughout each instalment in the Grishaverse so far.
I’m so excited to see Illumicrate’s special edition boxes in the future, as I think so much thought and work was put into this one!
